Racewell Ltd produces a range of livestock handling equipment that aims at:

• increasing farm profitability
• reducing labour requirements
• improving safety, including the reduction of fatigue and strain injuries
• turning unpleasant chores into manageable tasks

The founders, Robin and Carol Fagan, have over 30 years of practical on farm experience including performance recording of stud stock and dairy grazing to weight targets. This practical base has been enhanced by the technological advantages they have been able to develop in real life situations.

The automatic drafting systems (sheep and cattle) are the companies flag ship. On their account, Racewell has won a Foundation for Research Science and Technology Award for significance in innovative technology. They have also been named as the preferred provider of drafting systems for the two agencies working on model farm, animal identification projects.

Racewell currently exports to Australia , Canada , United Kingdom , Iceland and Europe with a few units also going to specialised operations in Japan.

With the global uptake of electronic identification of livestock, Racewell's livestock handling products are well placed to assist farmers in managing both regulatory and performance recording of their livestock.

In addition to their livestock products, Racewell has a general engineering division which has been selected to provide gates, pens and ramps for many North Island sale centres. This division includes a range of customised work – trailers, hopper feeders for helicopters and vehicle certification.
