Gallagher Animal Management Systems (AMS) is a division of Gallagher Group Limited, based in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Gallagher AMS has over 65 years of experience in farming. What began in the 1930's as one man's ingenious mechanical solutions to the practical challenges he faced on his farm in New Zealand has since grown into a multi-faceted, multi-million dollar business that currently distributes products to over 130 countries worldwide.

Portable and permanent Gallagher Power Fence systems are renowned as complete, customisable solutions for animal control. The Gallagher Power Fence enables farmers to subdivide pasture and control grazing, and this can have a dramatic effect on production and farm profitability.

Gallagher AMS has responded to these needs with the development of ‘Smart' products that incorporate advanced communication technologies. The latest top of the line energizers feature on-board intelligence to monitor fence status, respond to changes, make adjustments for increasing loads on the fence and to generate alarms when farmer intervention is required. Advanced remote communications technology has been integrated into the products with the introduction of the SmartPac remote. SmartPac enables farmers to monitor the performance of their fence system and turn the energizer on or off from anywhere along the fence line.

The SmartScale weighing systems provide simple and easy-to-use weighing and data collection solutions for everyday farm requirements. In recognition of the increased need for traceability SmartScale also provides an interface to electronic livestock identification systems and the ability to lower labour costs with the use of automated animal handling equipment.
